Lanhai Marine is the largest marine aquarium company in the country, with two national-level Class A import aquatic animal quarantine facilities, a large coral breeding base, and a large marine fish cultivation base, covering nearly 15,000 square meters. Lanhai Marine invests heavily in technology and funding each year for the artificial breeding of various marine organisms. The company also actively develops and introduces new marine species from around the world to improve the stability and diversity of its biological supply.
On June 10, 2017, Lanhai Marine was honored as the President Unit of the Marine Ornamental Organism Branch of the China Fishery Association. The company’s General Manager, Lan Jingming, was appointed as the President of this branch and was recognized in 2018 as a leading entrepreneur in the aquarium industry for China’s reform and opening-up. In 2020, Lanhai Marine was selected as a Member Unit of the Technical Committee for Ornamental Fish of the National Aquatic Specialty Standardization Committee.
Lanhai Marine holds breeding and utilization permits for various protected marine species, including stony corals, giant clams, and grouper. The company has patents for giant clam breeding technology and has successfully bred multiple species of giant clams with mass production capabilities. It is the only company in China with a breeding and operational license for sand tiger sharks and the first to hold both a utilization permit and breeding permit for groupers, making it a legitimate source supplier.

History
Lanhai Marine was founded by Lan Yeting in 1978 on Weizhou Island in Beihai City, Guangxi Province. It is now fully managed by the second-generation successor, Lan Jingming. The company has grown to include Guangdong Lanhai Marine Technology Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Fuhai Aquatics, Hainan Lanhai Marine, and Foshan Marine Ornamental Organism Breeding Base, with Guangdong Lanhai Marine Technology Co., Ltd. serving as the headquarters.
Lanhai Marine boasts a rich industry background and historical experience. In 1978, the first-generation founder Lan Yeting began supplying marine ornamental fish to local aquariums on Weizhou Island. In the 1990s, as the aquarium stores in the Pearl River Delta region began to expand, Lan Yeting further increased the trade of marine ornamental organisms to these stores. Due to growing market demand for a wider variety of marine ornamental organisms, Lan Yeting relocated the company to Hainan in 1999 to develop and manage operations there.

Lan Jingming, as the second-generation successor, was deeply influenced by his father Lan Yeting’s teachings and marine culture from a young age and was determined to enter the aquarium industry. In 2001, he began working at Hainan Lanhai Marine, focusing on the technology of catching and quarantining ornamental fish. By 2006, he independently established Shenzhen Lanhai Aquatics Co., Ltd., leading the company in expanding into marine ornamental organism import and export, aquarium store wholesale, and marine park business. In 2012, he co-founded Guangzhou Fuhai Aquatics with Lan Wuming in Guangzhou to further expand wholesale aquarium business. Lan Jingxiu and Lan Jingcai took over Hainan Lanhai Marine in 2017 and established the country’s first large-scale marine ornamental fish breeding base in Wenchang, further developing the Hainan ornamental fish business.
In line with Lanhai Marine’s strategic development, General Manager Lan Jingming decided in June 2017 to relocate the company’s operations to Fangcun, Guangzhou, the largest distribution center for ornamental fish in China. A 5,800-square-meter modern international fish farm was established there, serving as the company’s headquarters.
To better meet development needs, the company launched China’s first online mini-program mall in 2020, expanding into marine ornamental organism retail with promising results. Considering the industry’s sustainable development, General Manager Lan Jingming invested in a coral breeding base in Foshan in 2023, covering over 3,000 square meters, for coral propagation and breeding, establishing a coral germplasm resource bank for China’s marine ornamental organism industry.

Headquarters Fishery (Guangdong Lanhai Marine Technology Co., Ltd.)
The headquarters fishery is located in Liwan District, Guangzhou, and was established by Lan Jingming, the second-generation successor of Blue Ocean.
In 2018, the Blue Ocean team independently completed the design and construction of the entire fishery. The building covers an area of 5,800 square meters. Due to technological upgrades and a commitment to high quality, it underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2024. The upgraded fishery now features 400 fish tanks of various sizes, a total of 1,800 tons of rearing water, and can accommodate 20,000 corals and 40,000 small ornamental fish. Additionally, the headquarters fishery includes a large marine fish breeding area, capable of simultaneously raising dozens of species of sharks, rays, and other large fish.
Guangdong Blue Ocean Marine Technology Co., Ltd. serves as the headquarters for Blue Ocean Marine. The main business of the headquarters fishery is the import of marine ornamental organisms. Based on years of operational experience, the Blue Ocean team has carefully selected 46 fish suppliers from 23 countries for collaboration, and they jointly develop and catch various marine ornamental organisms. They provide a long-term and stable supply of imported marine ornamental organisms to over 1,100 aquarium stores and more than 200 marine parks across the country.
Guangzhou Branch Fishery (Guangzhou Fuhai Aquarium)
Guangzhou Fuhai Aquarium is located in the Flower Expo Park in Liwan District, Guangzhou. It was founded by Lan Wuming, the second-generation successor of Lanhai.
The building area is 2,500 square meters, with 260 fish tanks of various sizes and 180 tons of aquaculture water. It can accommodate 8,000 corals and 10,000 small ornamental fish.
Guangzhou Fuhai Aquarium mainly deals in imported small marine ornamental creatures, and provides a long-term and stable supply service of imported marine ornamental creatures to more than 700 aquarium stores across the country.
Hainan Branch Fishery (Hainan Lanhai Marine)
Hainan Blue Ocean is located in Yandun Town, Wenchang City, Hainan Province. The fishery was founded by Lan Yeting, the first-generation founder of Blue Ocean, and is now operated by Lan Jingxiu and Lan Jingcai, the second-generation successors of Blue Ocean.
The fishery covers an area of 6,000 square meters, with 200 large and small fish ponds, 3,600 tons of aquaculture water, and can accommodate 70,000 large and small marine ornamental fish.
Hainan Blue Ocean mainly deals in domestic marine ornamental species. We have cooperated with fish boats for many years to fish in the waters around Hainan Island, Xisha Islands, and Nansha Islands. We also cooperate with fishermen to farm in cages and fish ponds. Based on our close cooperation with fishermen for many years, as well as many years of experience in ornamental fish farming and professional quarantine treatment, the quality of our ornamental fish is guaranteed to be qualified. It provides a long-term and stable supply of ornamental fish for more than 200 aquariums and 130 oceanariums across the country.
The fishery has two farming methods, one is recirculating water farming, which is mainly for cartilaginous fish. The other is flowing water farming, which is mainly for bony fish.
Foshan Lanhai Marine Coral Breeding Base
The Blue Sea Marine Coral Breeding Base is located in Lishui Town, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. It was founded by the company’s general manager Lan Jingming in 2023.
The building area is 3,000 square meters. At present, the first phase has 23 modern standard coral breeding tanks and 230 tons of aquaculture water, and can accommodate more than 100,000 corals.
The Blue Sea Marine Coral Breeding Base not only has a large-scale indoor coral breeding base, but also has advanced and complete equipment and professional breeding technology. The purpose of establishing the base is to collect and conserve as many coral species as possible, and to serve as a coral breeding bank in the future. At the same time, through our research on asexual and sexual reproduction of corals, we can stably produce various varieties of corals to meet the viewing and research needs of corals at home and abroad. Through artificial breeding of corals, we can reduce the fishing of corals in the natural environment, protect the natural ecology, and improve the sustainable development capacity of the industry.
